Meet Our Cats
Ethel
Æthelflæd
Ethel's mother was rescued whilst pregnant. During the first lockdown Ethel was made a temporary Coffee Cat. However, after meeting Alfie, our gentle giant waiting for someone to dote on, they became instant best friends and have been together ever since. Ethel can now often be found on the rope bridge during play mode or sometimes on the wheel upstairs.
Urdi
Little Urdi came to us in June '23 along with her two sisters, Verdi & Skuld.
She started as the fiesty one but we see less of that now as she has settled in. She enjoys human company and likes to play 'fetch' with her toys then take them back to her 'den'.
She is a little funny character and quick to learn.
Verdi
Verdi is similar in pattern to her sister Skuld but with a bit more black on her face.
She seems the quieter of the three sisters but as we know 'its the quiet ones you need to watch'!
She watches and waits for her moment to act/pounce. She does like a human lap to curl up on and has a strange taste for plastic, shiny smooth surfaces!
Alfie
Alfred the grrreat
The biggest cat with the biggest heart, Alfie is a black cat who looks after the younger ones in the group and likes nothing more than to cuddle up with them and give or receive a good grooming. A gentle giant Alfie is also very playful, although he probably has the most snoozes of all the cats. However, regular customers know if they sit in the green chair, Alfie will be sure to come over and sit on your lap for some fuss.
Nicky
Nicola de la Haie
Little Nicky came to us the day before Christmas eve, 2020 as she was too much of a handful for her original owners. She can now be found speeding about the cafe, rough playing with the boys or playing with toys. She loves to pounce on her playmates by hiding under cover until they are near enough to surprise.
Even though she is a tomboy she has taken on the role of Matriach of the clowder and likes to rub her scent around, particularly on the rope bridges.
She is the most vocal of the cats and on the rare occasion she is tired enough for a cuddle, she loves a good old scratch behind the ear.
Little Boo (Little Boudicca)
r.i.p
Boo was a sweet and amazing three legged wonder cat who had a difficult life but a spirit that made an impression on everyone she met,
When we first met her at the shelter she made it clear she wanted to be with us and was the first to set paws through our doors. She had a short illness and we lost her just after our first birthday in October 2020 and is greatly missed,
Remember, any adversity in life can be overcome with determination and love
Snorri was a truly unique cat. Funny, gentle, loving, calm and so tolerant of everything and everyone he met. He was firm favourite at Coffee Cats and was the King of our Castle. He could often be spotted on one of his regular walks around the historic highlights of Lincoln. He lived to a good but unknown age and we lost him in April '22. We miss him so much but treasure the memories we made together.
Ratatoskr was an original Coffee Cat along with Boo and Snorri. She had been in the shelter for a long time before she came to live with us.
She was a little, mischievous cat who would draw you in with her big eyes and gorgeous patterned fur.
A bit of a drama queen, known for her sassy nature, most probably due to her troubled start in life, she was a popular cat, funny, and loved by those who understood her ways.
She had underlying health issues which meant we lost her far to early in October 22 and miss having her always close by watching everything that was going on.
